Box League

Tennislessons4u

Tennislessons4u have set up our own adult box league to provide more opportunities for adults to play competitive singles against other players from our 4 clubs; Earls Colne, Gosfield, Castle Hedingham + Halstead.

What is a box league?
Every 2 months you will be placed in a box of between 3 -6 players. These are based on ability and you will arrange a time to play everyone in your box. At the end of every 2 months, players will be moved promoted and relegated accordingly to a new box.

Who and how do I join?
The box league is open to all abilities, you must be a member of one of our Tennislessons4u clubs (this will be checked). To join you must contact Tom on 07769033144 or tennislessons4u@outlook.com with you name, email and playing level.

You will receive a welcome email from boxleague.net to set up your account (check spam and junk) and follow the instructions to create a password. Once logged in please update all your information including phone number in 'my profile'.

The administrator will then place you in a suitable box to start once the new term of matches begin. You will also be added to our box league WhatsApp group.

Match Scoring:
Matches are best of 3 sets of normal tennis scoring (15-0 etc). Sets are first to 4 games and you must win by 2 clear games e.g 5-3. If a set reaches 4 games all then you will play a tie-break to 7-7. If the match reaches 1 set all then play a deciding tie break to 10.

Login to BoxLeague.net and click on the ‘Standings’ tab, then the ’Match Results’  text then ‘League Matches’ to enter the scores. Use the drop down arrows to select your match opponent. For example if player 1 beat player 2 by 2 sets to 1 then select score 2-1 and press ‘Record Result’. Record match scores by 9 pm on the last day of the round.

Arranging Matches:
It is up to you to organise and arrange your own matches with your opponents. You can find their contact details on boxleague.net under 'standings'. Please contact your opponents early in the term to avoid not being able to play, Matches can be played at any of our four clubs and can be booked on their websites. For example if a member of Earls Colne has a match against a Castle Hedingham Member then you can play at either of those clubs for free.
An alternative is to make a group WhatsApp group at the start of the term to make it easy for players to arrange matches against one another.
