How much should Tennis lessons cost for my child?

Tennis is a great sport for children to learn, as it can improve their coordination, balance and overall fitness. If you're considering signing up your child for tennis lessons, you might be wondering how much you should expect to pay.

The cost of tennis lessons can vary depending on a number of factors:

1) Location

The cost of tennis lessons can vary greatly depending where you live. In urban areas, the cost of lessons may be higher die to rental costs for courts. In suburban or rural areas, the cost may be slightly lower.

2) The Coach

The experience and qualifications of a coach can affect the lessons. A coach with lots of experience may charge more compared to a brand new coach. You may also find coaches with other relevant experience, such as teaching or childcare work. Make sure to consider and research the coach before starting lessons.

3) Duration

Quite simply, longer lessons will cost more. But also check if you get anything else included in the price, such as discounts for other services they provide or match play entry.

4) Type of lessons

You can choose between private and group lessons fro your child. A private lesson will generally cost 6 times the amount of a group lesson, however your child will progress much quicker.

On average, you can expect to pay between £20 - £50 for a private lesson. Group sessions will cost between £5 - £10 per session.

When considering the cost of tennis, keep in mind the importance of investing in a coach and the sport itself. Beyond the tennis skills they will learn, your child will also develop respect, teamwork, attitude and many more transferable skills. It's important to do your research, ask for a trial session and see how well the coach builds a rapport with the children.
